There is an abundance of game on this ranch due to its location, unique features and game management program. The ranch supports a variety of habitat suitable for many species. Animals often use habitat seasonally and the function (cover, food acquisition, calving, etc.) often varies by season. Because of the elevation range over which the ranch occupies, important habitat can be found at various elevations during all seasons of the year. The upper regions are important for spring reproduction and support big game as well as for browsing and grazing; lower elevation areas are important to many species during the winter months for cover and food resources. Herd of antelope occupy the broad central grassland on the property and elk and bear are commonly observed at higher elevations.

Several riparian areas are located on the ranch and are important as wildlife corridors between the higher and lower elevations of the ranch and as cover areas for many birds and mammals. There are significant numbers of elk and many mule deer. Coyote, fox, bear, badger and cottontail rabbit are also abundant. Several pair of big horn sheep can be found in the alpine areas. Various birds including magpie, grouse, turkey, stellar jay, robin, red tail hawk, and great horned owl, ravens, black-capped chickadees, green-winged teal, can be observed. Very limited hunting or fishing has been allowed on this ranch for more than 15 years.
