The north and south irrigated hayfields compose approximately 300 acres and produce over 500 tons of hay most years. Fed by the pipeline from the reservoir, this area is ranch central and appears as an emerald oasis. Between the fields is a turn of the century Victorian-style home used now as the ranch manager's house, surrounded by 100 year-old cottonwood trees. The house is located along county road 520 and convenient to La Veta and other area resources.
